As of 2013, the University of Toronto has joined with other 6 Ontario Universities (McMaster University, Queen’s University, University of Guelph, University of Ottawa, University of Waterloo and Western University) to make it easier for students to get credit for courses already completed.

Flexible Pathways to Transfer Credits


University

Canadian University Transfers

Ontario College Transfers

University of Toronto

Students who have completed up to two years of study at a recognized university may be granted a maximum of ten transfer credits.

The Faculty of Arts and Science grants a maximum of five transfer credits to candidates who have completed a three-year diploma or a four year Applied Degree at an Ontario College of Applied Arts and Technology/Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning.  Students who have completed a two-year diploma program may receive up to a maximum of two “generic” credits.

York University

Courses in engineering science and engineering design content must be completed at a degree-granting Canadian Institution accredited by CEAB. The maximum number of credits granted is 30.

·       Block Credit Policy-maximum of 42 credits

·       Articulation Agreement Programs-maximum of 60 credits

·       Joint Programs-maximum of 60 credits

 

University of Waterloo

You can receive transfer credit for up to 50% of the courses needed for your Waterloo degree. (Contact for further information)

University of Western

Students must meet the residency requirement to complete a minimum of 10.0 credits at Western (the equivalent of two years of full-time study) to be eligible to receive a degree from Western.

Queen’s University

Transfer credits are assessed by individual departments and are based on grades achieved as well as equivalency to Queen’s courses.

Guelph University

Normally, students transferring from another university can receive up to 10.0 credits (2 years).

·       applicants from a three-year college program can receive up to 10.0 credits (2 years)

·       applicants from a two-year program can receive 5.0 credits (1 year).

Ryerson University

·       complete at least one half (50%) of the program’s curriculum at Ryerson.
